These could symbolize the Five Trees as aspects of divine wisdom and power.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Five Worlds of Light<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Manichaeans also described\u00a0<strong>five heavenly realms<\/strong>\u00a0that constitute the Kingdom of Light, each ruled by a divine figure. Likewise, these five trees could parallel the&nbsp;<em>Five Trees of Paradise<\/em>&nbsp;mentioned in the&nbsp;<em>Gospel of Thomas<\/em>&nbsp;(saying 19), which Jesus describes as eternal and unshakable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Purpose in Manichaean Thought<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>These trees were more than just symbols\u2014they represented divine forces actively working to&nbsp;<strong>liberate the Light<\/strong>&nbsp;trapped in matter.
