My New Song : In the Sunshine by Sakshi-I

Carlos, a fan of mine, way back from Myspace days, recently found me again on Facebook and he sent me a link to a video he made of my brand new song “In the Sunshine”. I was so happy to reconnect with him and hear his enthusiasm about sharing my music!

This is what he had to say:

“i made a YouTube video from your song on Myspace, In the Sunshine, if its ok with you i can link my video to your site or delete it if its not proper, i only made it because i love your music and wanted to make the world see your beautiful music. here is the link, let me know, i got so much love for you after so many years of knowing you and see you grow musically and spiritually, i just wanted to help, thank you very much, love and raspect!” ~Carlos

I’m thankful to be able to touch people with my music and I am touched when fans reach out with support and become my friends! It’s one of the greatest feelings in the world.

So a little about the song:

It’s a brand new song about Spring Love called “In the Sunshine”. It’s gotta Reggae RnB vibe with a lil Hiphop & Dub flava! It brings together the essence of spiritual love in the musical form of appreciating nature, springtime, connection, beauty, love making and sunshine. Imagine spending time in a beautiful forest or tropical beach with the one you love, appreciating nature, the divine spark within each of you grows and glows with beauty and blissful connection, love and sun shines upon you and you feel grateful and blessed.

It features the Drums and Bass of Michael and Josh Jackson, the backing vocals of Imani Alpha, and Guitar, Melodica, Production, and Lead Vocals by yours truly…

Blessed Love,

Esthero – Superheroes

I came across this song today and fell in love with it! So sexy and fly! Check out these far out lyrics for this awesome trip-hop song by Esthero:

Superheros, by Esthero

“Stay awhile longer sweet tongue of fur and feather
There is a white breast
Waiting for you here…
Between the superheroes – and the electric blanket is warm

I could be sweet
I could be young, and fresh
If I weren’t so old and used
And wet and wet, I am wet

I try not to ruin the moment
Tell me all your secrets and your torments
You’re delicious, you’re delicious…
Send me on a quest for lullabies – and more

What would it take for you to see
What I have got?
I’ve got more than you know
Open your eyes, I cannot be – what I am not

I’m not what I used to be, I’m not what
I’m not what I used to be, and i
I don’t know myself – from anybody else
I’m not what I used to be, I’m not what
I’m not what I used to be, and i
You don’t know what you have done
My frame is here but the mind is gone – gone away

So stay awhile longer sweet tongue of fur and feather
Don’t cut the white breast
I’ve been waiting for you here

I’m not who I used to be
Bigger and better and faster and wetter
And bigger and better and faster and better.”

3 Easy Ways to Die

This pic really struck me because of the truth of the 3rd way to die. “Love someone who doesn’t love you back… You will die daily.” While this could just mean emotionally, as one may feel like dieing each day as they continue loving someone who doesn’t return that love. Most likely this emotional death comes from a situation where the two persons were once lovers and no longer, and one still loves and misses the other, while the other does not, which can be painfully heartbreaking. This emotional dieing can also dramatically affect one’s physical, mental, and emotional health in a very serious way, numerous tests show the connection between our emotions and our health. It can truly kill you in the real physical sense just like cigarettes and alcohol. So, the truth is, whoever makes you feel this way, somehow find life and happiness. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it. Your health and happiness are worth it! You are worth it!

The Bull Who Cried

The Bull Who Cried…

Knowing he was about to be slaughtered, a bull in Hong Kong did what many people fail to realize or are skeptic about when it comes to animals – he showed emotion.

As reported by Weekly World News, a group of workers walked a bull to a packaging factory. They were about to slaughter him to make steaks and beef stews. When they were close to the front door of the slaughter house, the sorrowful bull suddenly stopped going forward and knelt down on his two front legs. The bull… was all in tears.

How did he know he was going to get killed before he entered the slaughter house? He is even smarter than people.

Mr. Shiu, a butcher recalled: “When I saw this kind of so-called “stupid” animal sobbing and with his eyes in fear and sorrow, I started trembling. I called the rest over to see. They were just as surprised. We kept pushing the bull forward, but he just didn’t want to move and sat there crying.”

Billy Fong, owner of the packaging factory said: “People thought animals didn’t cry like human beings. However that bull really sobbed like a baby.”
At that time, more than ten strong men witnessed the scene and they were all touched. Those who were responsible for slaughtering even felt more touched and teared as well.

Other workers working at the same slaughter house also came to see the crying bull. It was all packed with people. They were all shock by this scene. Three of them said they would never forget this crying bull when they slaughter other animals.

With both man and animal crying, everyone knew that nobody could kill the bull. The problem was, what should they do with him? In the end, they raised funds to buy this crying bull and sent him to a temple, where the kind monks would take care of him for life.

After the workers had made a decision, a miracle happened. A worker said: “When we promised this bull that we will not kill him, he started moving and followed us.”

How did he understand people’s words?

Mr. Shiu said: “Believe it or not? This is real although it sounds unbelievable.”

No doubt, this bull changed these butchers’ lives.

Hopefully this story has in turn changed yours.

How Memorial Day was stripped of it’s African-American Roots

If you didn’t know, which most people don’t, Memorial Day began as a celebration of black soldiers who fought in the U.S. Civil War. But White America decided to try to cover that up by making it a “Memorial Day” for all soldiers fighting in any U.S. War… which doesn’t sound like a bad thing but some of these wars were events which a lot of people don’t agree with and were cause of grave injustices and murder of innocent people. We may support the troops and those that served, but not always the wars they were serving. Check out this article about the origin of Memorial Day from this website: How Memorial Day was stripped of it’s African-American Roots

Below is an excerpt from the article:

What we now know as Memorial Day began as “Decoration Day” in the immediate aftermath of the U.S. Civil War. It was a tradition initiated by former slaves to celebrate emancipation and commemorate those who died for that cause.

These days, Memorial Day is arranged as a day “without politics”—a general patriotic celebration of all soldiers and veterans, regardless of the nature of the wars in which they participated. This is the opposite of how the day emerged, with explicitly partisan motivations, to celebrate those who fought for justice and liberation.

The concept that the population must “remember the sacrifice” of U.S. service members, without a critical reflection on the wars themselves, did not emerge by accident. It came about in the Jim Crow period as the Northern and Southern ruling classes sought to reunite the country around apolitical mourning, which required erasing the “divisive” issues of slavery and Black citizenship. These issues had been at the heart of the struggles of the Civil War and Reconstruction.

To truly honor Memorial Day means putting the politics back in. It means reviving the visions of emancipation and liberation that animated the first Decoration Days. It means celebrating those who have fought for justice, while exposing the cruel manipulation of hundreds of thousands of U.S. service members who have been sent to fight and die in wars for conquest and empire.

The First Decoration Day

As the U.S. Civil War came to a close in April 1865, Union troops entered the city of Charleston, S.C., where four years prior the war had begun. While white residents had largely fled the city, Black residents of Charleston remained to celebrate and welcome the troops, who included the TwentyFirst Colored Infantry. Their celebration on May 1, 1865, the first “Decoration Day,” later became Memorial Day.

Yale University historian David Blight retold the story:

During the final year of the war, the Confederates had converted the planters’ horse track, the Washington Race Course and Jockey Club, into an outdoor prison. Union soldiers were kept in horrible conditions in the interior of the track; at least 257 died of exposure and disease and were hastily buried in a mass grave behind the grandstand. Some 28 black workmen went to the site, re-buried the Union dead properly, and built a high fence around the cemetery. They whitewashed the fence and built an archway over an entrance on which they inscribed the words, “Martyrs of the Race Course.”Then, black Charlestonians in cooperation with white missionaries and teachers, staged an unforgettable parade of 10,000 people on the slaveholders’ race course. The symbolic power of the low-country planter aristocracy’s horse track (where they had displayed their wealth, leisure, and influence) was not lost on the freed people. A New York Tribune correspondent witnessed the event, describing “a procession of friends and mourners as South Carolina and the United States never saw before.”At 9 a.m. on May 1, the procession stepped off led by 3,000 black schoolchildren carrying armloads of roses and singing “John Brown’s Body.” The children were followed by several hundred black women with baskets of flowers, wreaths and crosses.

Then came black men marching in cadence, followed by contingents of Union infantry and other black and white citizens. As many as possible gathered in the cemetery enclosure; a children’s choir sang “We’ll Rally around the Flag,” the “Star-Spangled Banner,” and several spirituals before several black ministers read from scripture.

HAPPY NARASIMHADEVA APPEARANCE DAY

“Lord Narasimha is here and also there. Wherever I go Lord Narasimha is there. He is in the heart and is outside as well. I surrender to Lord Narasimha, the origin of all things and the supreme refuge.”~Narasimha Purana

Narasimha is the Lion form of God in India. He represents Divine Majesty and Protection.

I always felt a connection to this Lion form of God because of how much I loved the form of Christ as the Lion of Judah.

Listen to Bob Marley singing the song Lion of Judah:

Dr. Sebi – Man with Cure for AIDS, Cancer, Sickle Cell, Herpes, Diabetes and more

I have heard of him before, but after watching the documentary “Last Days of Left Eye” I was turned on to the full story about Dr. Sebi. He is a man from Honduras who has the Cure for AIDS, Cancer, Sickle Cell, Herpes, Diabetes and every kind of illness, through a whole foods vegetarian diet and natural herbs, what he calls Electric Foods. He never went to school, college or medical school but has thousands of testimonials of healing people with HIV and AIDS, Cancer and several other illnesses. Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes of TLC was cured of Herpes by him and she was so moved by his knowledge that she went on to spread the word about him in every way she could. She also opened a Cultural/Healing Center for Children in Honduras before she passed away tragically.

A New Star is Born – Lisa “Left Eye” Lopez

This is a solo song from Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes which I’m assuming was supposed to be on her solo album “Supernova” that her label decided not to release. She was so shattered they wouldn’t release it that she headed back to Honduras to break with life and begin her cleansing retreat and documentary about herself, during which she died tragically in a car crash. If her label had agreed to release her album she may still be here today. Regardless, as she says so many times “death is not the end, but a transformation” and this song has a very pure spirit and energy which she was trying to convey to the world before she left us here in the physical realm. She was truly a Supernova, a star that shines brighter then all the rest, a star that dies and transforms and births new stars.

Last Days of Left Eye

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74DWS-rVzCg

This documentary appeared in my recommended list on YouTube and I felt strongly moved to watch it immediately. I had no idea how amazing Left Eye was! This is so inspiring! I always felt connected to her, as TLC was one of my favz back in tha day, but seriously, you must watch the whole thing! I’m completely floored.. and bawled at the end. I had no idea she was vegetarian and had such a spiritual and humanitarian calling. I didn’t know of her connection to Dr. Sebi and Honduras, the children’s center she built there, her attempt at releasing a solo album and so many other fascinating things this documentary reveals. And even more amazing is she was personally in charge of this 30 day documentary and it was on the 27th day that she died tragically. I always loved her but now i feel like her spirit just reached out and touched me. She is helping me alot right now, because I am feeling so similar to how she felt during her last days. The pain in her heart and the beauty of her vision is something I resonate with so deeply it brings tears to my eyes just writing this. I love you Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, my angel.
