Astrotheology & Esoteric Understanding of Abraham near-sacrifice of son Isaac

In esoteric and astrotheological interpretations, the biblical story of Abraham’s near-sacrifice of his son Isaac and the substitution of a ram can be understood as symbolic of celestial, archetypal, and inner spiritual processes rather than a literal historical event. Here are key insights from this perspective:

1. Astrological Symbolism

  • Abraham (Father of Faith): Represents the Sun or divine consciousness, the central guiding force of the soul’s spiritual journey.
  • Isaac (Son): Symbolizes humanity or the individual soul, subject to trials and transformation.
  • Ram (Substitute Sacrifice): The ram corresponds to the zodiac sign Aries, associated with the spring equinox. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and symbolizes renewal, new beginnings, and the potential for rebirth. The ram’s sacrifice may point to the transition from one astrological age to another or the alignment of cosmic energies. For instance, the Age of Aries (around 2000–0 BCE) was marked by a focus on warrior cultures, sacrifice, and the centrality of lambs or rams in religious practices.

2. Inner Transformation

The story reflects the process of inner spiritual awakening:

  • Abraham’s Test: Represents the human ego’s struggle to surrender to divine will and transcend material attachments (symbolized by the son, Isaac).
  • The Sacrifice: Indicates the necessity of a shift from ego-centered living to a higher, spiritual focus. The ram represents a substitute: the relinquishing of base instincts or primal desires, paving the way for spiritual evolution.

3. Cosmic Allegory

  • The mountain (Mount Moriah) symbolizes the higher plane of consciousness or spiritual enlightenment.
  • The angel’s intervention represents divine wisdom guiding humanity away from literal violence (child sacrifice, which was practiced in some ancient cultures) toward symbolic or spiritual sacrifices.
  • The ram being “caught in the thicket” symbolizes hidden divine knowledge or potential that must be uncovered and offered to align with cosmic law.

4. Transition of Ages

In a broader astrotheological context, the substitution of the ram for Isaac may mark a transition in human consciousness or religious practices:

  • From human sacrifices (literal interpretation) to animal sacrifices, reflecting a spiritual and ethical evolution.
  • It also foreshadows the Age of Pisces, where the sacrificial motif is fulfilled through the figure of Christ (the “Lamb of God”).

The story of Abraham and Isaac in esoteric astrotheology is a symbolic narrative of the soul’s journey, the evolution of consciousness, and humanity’s alignment with divine will. It incorporates celestial dynamics (ages and zodiac signs), spiritual trials (faith and surrender), and ethical transformation (moving from literal to spiritual sacrifice).

The Muses & the 7 days of the week

Which days of the week are associated with the muses?

In Greek mythology, the Muses are typically associated with different areas of the arts and sciences, but they are not specifically associated with particular days of the week. However, there is a traditional Western association of the days of the week with planets and deities. If we were to loosely associate the Muses with the days of the week based on their domains and the traditional associations, it might look something like this:

  1. Calliope (Epic Poetry) – Monday (associated with the Moon)
  2. Clio (History) – Tuesday (associated with Mars, god of war and bravery)
  3. Euterpe (Music) – Wednesday (associated with Mercury, messenger of the gods)
  4. Thalia (Comedy) – Thursday (associated with Jupiter, king of the gods)
  5. Melpomene (Tragedy) – Friday (associated with Venus, goddess of love and beauty)
  6. Terpsichore (Dance) – Saturday (associated with Saturn, god of time)
  7. Erato (Love Poetry) – Sunday (associated with the Sun)

Please note that this is a loose and modern interpretation and not a traditional association from ancient mythology.

Asenath, Snow White, Mary Magdalene & the Zodiac

Q. What connects all the elements in this title?
A. Joseph and Asenath.

Asenath אסנת was the daughter of Potiphar, the high priest of On (Heliopolis), who became the wife of the Old Testament Joseph. We don’t have much information about Asenath from the Torah, but we do get a mythical history in ‘Joseph and Asenath’, a very early apocryphal story from about the 2nd century.

In his ‘The Lost Gospel’, Simcha Jacobovici makes the case that ‘Joseph and Asenath’ is actually a retelling of the Gospel story of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. Which is why the Torah Joseph is being called here a Son of God, and why the Torah Asenath is living in a tower (a Magdal). Just like Rapunzel, Asenath is being symbolically portrayed as being Mary Magdalene, the Princess of the Tower.

Thus it is likely that ‘Joseph and Asenath’ is pesher – a story composed from historical events, that actually reflects and represents contemporary events. Not only does pesher assist in prophesy via precedent, it also hides the true meaning of the contemporary story, which can then safely encode heretical elements.

In addition to this, Joseph is quite obviously being portrayed as Helios, the Sun-god. Which is why we might speculate that ‘Joseph and Asenath’ is more likely a Nazarene text, than a Christian text.

Joseph is described as:
… The Saviour
… The Son of God
… Riding a chariot, with four white horses
… Wearing a purple cloak
… And a crown with 12 rays, like the rays of the Sun.

This is an overt description of Helios wearing his celestial crown and cloak, riding in his celestial chariot across the heavens pulled by four white horses. ‘Joseph and Asenath’ is not simply a pesher story about Jesus, it is a pesher story about the Solar System.

Asenath is described as:
… Living in a Tower (a Magdal)
… Having seven attendants, looking like stars

Joseph and Asenath meet, but are not entirely suited to each other (Jewish and Pagan). Then Joseph, as prime minister of all Egypt, has urgent business and goes away for seven days.

While Joseph is away, Asenath throws off her bright clothing and jewellery, and clothes herself instead with black robes covered in ashes. Then she ties her waist with sackcloth, and fasts for all seven days. The ashes are a sign of death, so it is almost as if Asenath is dead.

But then Joseph returns, firstly in spirit form, and then in human form. So Asenath loosens her waist sackcloth, takes off her black garments, shakes off the ashes of death, washes her face with water, and reclothes herself in the bright and splendid clothes of marriage. For she is to marry Joseph.

Quite clearly, this is the origin of the Snow White story, where the bright and white Snow White also has seven dwarf attendants. And like Asenath she too has a corset around her waist to make her thinner, until she ‘dies’. And she too is kissed by a handsome prince, who brings her back to life and marries her.

But as was explained previously, the Snow White fairytale was based upon the orbit of the Moon. Just like Snow White and Asenath, the Moon is brightly jewelled in the night sky, and followed by seven star-like planetary attendants. The Moon is bright and joyful until a sackcloth or corset is wrapped around her, making her appear thinner and thinner in the night sky until she dies. This is the blackness of the New Moon – the death Snow White and the death of Asenath.

Only now can the dead New Moon Selene meet the handsome Helios – an orbital arrangement that can only happen at the New Moon, when Selene is dark and dead. This is Joseph-Helios meeting Asenath-Selene or the Princely-Helios meeting Snow White Selene. The celestial prince and princess then kiss, at the beginning of a Solar eclipse. And as the eclipse proceeds Helios-Joseph-Prince and Selene-Asenath-Snow-White can be seen in flagrante delicto in their celestial bridal chamber in the heavens above, locked in their orbital embrace.

So the fairytale of Snow White is as old as the Moon, and as old as the Gospels. Of course this does not imply that Joseph and Asenath or Jesus and Mary Magdalene were mythical characters. Royalty were expected to mimic the celestial gods in the heavens above, so the celestial syzygy and eclipse had to take place in the royal bridal chamber, as well as in the heavens above.

As Above, So Below.

Nazarene Church of Edessa

The Edessan-Nazarene Church was an initiatory ‘secret’ sect that took 7 years to join (this is how long it took Queen Helena). The Raising of Lazarus was a 3rd degree initiation demonstrating the hidden occult nature of the Church. A primary source of veneration for the Church was the zodiac and the Hamat zodiac at Tiberius was processional and depicted the Heliocentric solar system and a spherical blue-green Earth – long before Copernicus mentioned this, this Church possessed deep scientific and astronomical secrets. One of their symbols was the sacred elagabal stone – (Shiva Linga of Hinduism/ Kaba Stone of Islam) a sacred meteorite of great antiquity that may have been strongly magnetic. The Gali priests who venerated the stone were symbolic or possibly real eunuchs – suggesting that they venerated the Primeaval Adam, the First Man, who was androgynous. Pharaoh Akhenaton – the first pharaoh to depict himself as as androgynous and who is linked with the Exodus of the Hyksos (Israelite) people in Egypt and possibly the founder of Judaism – the Edessan-Nazarene Church followed this ancient tradition. The connection between the zodiac and the elagabal meteorite (the Phoenix) strongly suggests the Nazarene were Sabeans – star worshippers. We can see the processional zodiac once more in “Jesus” being born as Lamb of God (Aries) and becoming a Fisher of Men (Pisces). In the 18th century BC the Hyksos Israelites took on the might of Egypt to become the first of the Shepherd Kings (the Kings of Aries), because Taurus had turned to Aries in 1750 BC. Similarly, Jesus-Izas wanted to take on the might of Rome to become the first of the Fisher Kings (the King of Pisces) because Aries had turned to Pisces in AD 10. The Edessan Kings held the Kama (Kamza) title. Kama means “Black” coming from the land of Kam or Kemet/Egypt. In the works of Josephus he is called Jesus of Gamala. Gamala is another variant of Kamala meaning Jesus the Egyptian. In the works of Josephus, the Talmud & the New Testament we have Jesus being referred to as “the Egyptian” or “the Egyptian False Prophet” and stories of him doing Egyptian magic.
