The Anatomy of Enlightenment According to Esoteric Philosophy: A Look at “The Truth About the Serpent”

Esoteric philosophy speaks to the truth of the human spirit, providing a backdrop for understanding our connection to the cosmos and the divinity of our inherent selves. This ancient wisdom is rife with symbolism, particularly with reference to the serpent. One of its most beloved archetypes speaks to an anatomy that can unlock inner depths of power, passion and courage—essentially, it teaches us how to connect to our true selves and live a life of understanding and enlightenment. Taking a closer look at this ancient wisdom, let’s examine the anatomy of enlightenment as it relates to “the truth about the serpent” with references to how the Gnostics view the serpent, the idea of kundalini and the serpent in the Garden of Eden.

In regards to the Gnostics, the serpent archetype served as a symbol of the savior offering emancipation from ignorance and oppression. In the Gnostic creation story, the serpent is elevated to the status of saviour and teacher, elevating man to knowledge and understanding that is rooted in truth and freedom rather than imprisonment by ignorance. The serpent is also symbolic of the spiritual path, offering us divine knowledge as a way of liberating us from suffering and personal bondage. In esoteric philosophy, the image of the serpent is seen as a metaphor for spiritual knowledge and revealed truth—a representation of the power of awakening, or “yoga”, as it is commonly referred to—that exists within us, leading us on the path to enlightenment.

The serpent is particularly connected to the concept of kundalini energy. This energy is the power of pure, divine fluidity and movement within the body, awakening and opening the pathways to liberation and union with divine consciousness. Kundalini is understood to be a living force that resides within us, accessible through subtle yoga techniques and meditation. Through the channeling of kundalini energy, we can awaken the serpent within. Kundalini rises, also referred to as “Serpent Power”, connecting us with infinite sources of life-force and restoring the connection between our physical and spiritual bodies. The power of Kundalini is primal and pure, providing a route to the true self and ultimately the Divine.

The serpent also holds a special place in the story of the Garden of Eden. As the serpent in the garden, it is seen as a provider of knowledge and forbidden wisdom, enticing man and woman to come to understandings of truth, thus providing them with all the power of the divine. The serpent is seen as a figure of illuminative power and insight, providing the spark of understanding that propels us towards awakening and ultimately, enlightenment.

In summary, the anatomy of enlightenment is illuminated in the powerful symbolism of the serpent. As taught by esoteric philosophy and supported by the Gnostics, this archetype speaks to an inner power within each of us that can be recognized and tapped into via methods such as kundalini awakening and meditation. Additionally, the serpent serves to highlight the importance of knowledge and understanding and the power of this enlightenment in setting us free. Ultimately, by unlocking the mysteries of the serpent within, we can rise in our own power and activate the pathways of freedom, truth and connection to our greater source.

The Apocalypse of Adam

Discovered in 1945, The Apocalypse of Adam. 🍎
The Apocalypse of Adam, also known as the Revelation of Adam is Adam’s version of what happened in the garden of Eden. 🍒


Part of which Reads: “I went about with her in a glory which she had seen in the aeon from which we had come forth. She taught me a word of knowledge of the eternal God. And we resembled the great eternal angels, for we were higher than the god who had created us and the powers with him, whom we did not know.” 🫂

Omitted from the Bible because of what it reveals. Eve and the serpent are the hero’s of the story teaching Adam’s fruits of eternal knowledge. To “eat from” means to “take in and digest, or to fully understand.” Eve was sent to Adam from the eternal father that Jesus spoke of to remind Adam of who he really is, a light being imprisoned in the material world by a jealous creator god. This creator god made this imperfect material world that he fashioned afrer the eternal heavenly realm. Adam’s soul is what was needed to animate the flesh suit the creator god made as a prison for his soul, claiming he is a jealous God, demanding worship and unquestionable faith. 🐍

Jesus also tells this story in another book omitted from the Bible called the “Secret Book of John,” discovered in a cave in 1945.

Jesus quotes the creator god, and asked a question which reads;
“I am a jealous God and there is no God but me!” 🤔

[But by doing this he admitted to his demons that there is indeed another God.
For, if there were no other God, whom would he possibly be jealous of?] 🤔


Where The Bible starts from the creation of earth, what’s learned is this is actually a galatic story. Adam’s soul is known in this story as “the first knowledge that breathed within him,” aka his eternal spirit which was stolen from the heavenly realm. Eve was sent by the true eternal father located at the center of the galaxy. This is the father Jesus spoke of when he came to deliver the same message to humanity to help free us from the prison of the material realm. 🌎


This different interpretation than the story in the Bible will lead you to your true identity.

Nazarene Church of Edessa

The Edessan-Nazarene Church was an initiatory ‘secret’ sect that took 7 years to join (this is how long it took Queen Helena). The Raising of Lazarus was a 3rd degree initiation demonstrating the hidden occult nature of the Church. A primary source of veneration for the Church was the zodiac and the Hamat zodiac at Tiberius was processional and depicted the Heliocentric solar system and a spherical blue-green Earth – long before Copernicus mentioned this, this Church possessed deep scientific and astronomical secrets. One of their symbols was the sacred elagabal stone – (Shiva Linga of Hinduism/ Kaba Stone of Islam) a sacred meteorite of great antiquity that may have been strongly magnetic. The Gali priests who venerated the stone were symbolic or possibly real eunuchs – suggesting that they venerated the Primeaval Adam, the First Man, who was androgynous. Pharaoh Akhenaton – the first pharaoh to depict himself as as androgynous and who is linked with the Exodus of the Hyksos (Israelite) people in Egypt and possibly the founder of Judaism – the Edessan-Nazarene Church followed this ancient tradition. The connection between the zodiac and the elagabal meteorite (the Phoenix) strongly suggests the Nazarene were Sabeans – star worshippers. We can see the processional zodiac once more in “Jesus” being born as Lamb of God (Aries) and becoming a Fisher of Men (Pisces). In the 18th century BC the Hyksos Israelites took on the might of Egypt to become the first of the Shepherd Kings (the Kings of Aries), because Taurus had turned to Aries in 1750 BC. Similarly, Jesus-Izas wanted to take on the might of Rome to become the first of the Fisher Kings (the King of Pisces) because Aries had turned to Pisces in AD 10. The Edessan Kings held the Kama (Kamza) title. Kama means “Black” coming from the land of Kam or Kemet/Egypt. In the works of Josephus he is called Jesus of Gamala. Gamala is another variant of Kamala meaning Jesus the Egyptian. In the works of Josephus, the Talmud & the New Testament we have Jesus being referred to as “the Egyptian” or “the Egyptian False Prophet” and stories of him doing Egyptian magic.

Master Teacher Hamid Bey

Master Hamid Bey was trained by Coptic masters in Egypt during the early 1900’s. His early education was focused on fundamental principles of self mastery leading him to the ultimate goal of complete mastery on the physical, mental and emotional levels. His early testing put him in life situations where he taught humility, the foundation of spirituality. Eventually he was taught how to put pins through his body without pain and how to be buried alive for hours at a time.

In the mid-1920’s, he was sent to the United States to teach the laws of balanced living. He was told one of his early missions in America was to challenge Houdini, who had indicated he was the only one on earth who could accomplish his memorable feats. By the time Master Bey arrived in the U.S., Houdini had passed away.

In the late 1920’s, he met Paramahansa Yogananda and they traveled together throughout America. They were two of the earliest and greatest pioneers of the metaphysical movement. Paramahansa would give the lecture and Master Bey would be buried alive in public, demonstrating the many skills of self mastery he learned during his early years of training by the Egyptian Coptic Masters.

The Gnostic Mandaeans

The Mandaeans of southern Iraq are the only remaining Gnostic sect from ancient times. They began their history on Sri Lanka when the island was part of the land-mass of Lemuria and home of the primeval Goddess Culture. Eventually migrating west they became part of the Sumerian, Persian, Egyptian and Jewish Essene civilizations. Finally, retracing their steps, they returned to their present location. In the tradition of the ancient gnostic sects descended from the Goddess and the Left Hand Path, the Mandaeans are dedicated to the achievement of gnosis for all their people, which they know involves the balance and union of the polarity and the alchemical force that results from that union.

To engender the balance and union of the polarity in their culture, the Mandaeans provide equal rights for both men and women. They are governed by their priest/priestess class, which is composed of both men and women. The centerpiece of their religion is the rite of baptism which is observed daily, during which is invoked the presence of the ancient Dragon Enki, the embodiment of the alchemical Kundalini, under his contemporary name of Manda d’Hiya. Enki is the “Water of Life,” the subtle alchemical force that moves within the physical water of the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. When activated it purifies Mandaeans on all levels and can awaken their “inner Enki,” the Kundalini power at the base of the spine.

The daily baptismal immersion of a Mandaean, known as the “Rishama,” a prayer is repeated while each part of the body is sequentially cleansed. At the end of the rite, the power and wisdom of ancient Enki as Manda d’Hiya is invoked with the words: “The name of the Life [the Divine Power] and the name of Manda d’Hiya [the Divine Wisdom] are pronounced upon me.”

The most powerful of baptisms are observed on Sunday under the guidance of a Mandaean priest and incorporate much more ritual than the Rishama. They include the sacraments of oil, bread, and water, and end with the sacred kiss upon the head from a priest, a rite known as “giving Kushta.” Possibly the most valuable part of the ceremony for a person’s spiritual progress is a special transmission of energy given them by the priest or preistess, who after the water immersion transmits the Water of Life or Kundalini power into a baptized Mandaean by placing their right hand upon his or her head and calling forth Manda d’Hiya.

At the conclusion of their life, all Mandaeans rise up to Mshunia Kushta, an etheric dimension where they merge with their etheric-body double that has been waiting for them during their earthly sojourn. When asked the location of this etheric world, the priests give the description of an etheric world that apparently overlays the planet Venus and mimics the Earth when it was the Garden of Eden. One Mandaean priest has stated: “There is a star inhabited by men, the descendants of the Hidden Adam [the etheric double of Adam], but they are semi-spiritual in nature, and not gross like ourselves. This star is called Merikh, the star of the morning.” The Mandaean baptismal purifications continue on this “star” until each Mandaean is ready to shed his or her etheric forms and live exclusively in their most refined bodies of light as pure luminaries of gnosis. They are then eligible to return home through the Pleiades stargate to the highest Pleroma worlds of light.

Pharaohs, Freemasons and the Discovery of the Secret Scrolls of Jesus… this book came out in 1996, well before the release of The DaVinci Code movies. Being inspired by its predecessor book “Holy Blood Holy Grail”, it reveals amazing research about how the modern Free Masons secret mystery teachings, rituals and initiations can be positively linked to the mystery teachings of the famous Knights Templar, who were the offshoot of the Nasoreans/Essenes and the Jerusalem Church of Jesus and James, which got it from the ancient Egyptian Mystery Schools. The very resurrection story of Jesus and the resurrection of Lazarus is the same Third Degree Master Mason initiation of death and resurrection which goes back through all of these said secret orders, going back to the original King-making resurrection ritual of ancient Egypt. This book also reveals how the famous relic, the Shroud of Turin, is actually the face of the Jacques de Molay, the famous leader of the Knights Templar who was brutally tortured with an almost exact Crucifixion torture, to the brink of death to get a fake confession from him and then eventually burnt alive after later recanting his confessions under extreme torture. The famous Shroud of Turin has been thought to be the miraculous face of Christ but learning that it is actually the face of de Molay reveals much about the hidden history of these secret traditions and why the Catholic Church persecuted them so heavily. This book also reveals how the famous Rosslyn Chapel of Scotland is actually a Knights Templar temple and how it was built in an exact replica to the original design of Herod’s temple in Jerusalem and how there are secret scrolls which the Knights Templar found below Herod’s Temple after the destruction in 70 AD, which they took possession of and then buried in the secret vaults below Rosslyn Chapel, which have yet to be excavated…

This book is a goldmine of information and secrets which show without a doubt that the original Jerusalem Church of Jesus and James (the Nasoreans), which was in direct opposition to Saul/Paul and his gentile church which later became the Catholic Church, was descended from the ancient Egyptian mystery schools, and later became the Knights Templar and later the Free Masons. Although the book reveals that most Masons, while knowing many of the secret passwords, handshakes, rituals, initiations and legends of Freemasonry, they most often have no idea the meaning of these secrets or where they came from. This book (written by 2 Master Masons) reveals many of the hidden meanings and history of these secrets for the first time in maybe hundreds or even thousands of years of mystery…

I don’t agree with everything in this book, most notably their claim that Jesus died in 33 AD, but overall I am in 99% agreement with this entire book and its thesis and this research ties into many of the theories of researcher Ralph Ellis and his many books. Suffice it to say, you should read this amazing book.

The Biblical Patriarchs were Egyptian Pharoahs??

There is starting to surface evidence that the Biblical patriarchs from Abraham, Jacob, Solomon, David, Moses and literally all the most relevant names even Jesus, which previously could not be found in the historical record, can now be found in the historic records if looked at in a slightly different era with slightly different names.. the history of the Hebrews & Egypt is very controversial & mixed in ways that made their symbology & traditions almost indistinguishable at times, and eventually Egypt became the scapegoat and thing to reject and divorce from seemingly in extreme ways.. but when you connect the Essene-Nazorean, Knights Templar & Free Mason history & symbology you start to see how these Egyptian Mystery School traditions were maintained covertly for thousands of years.. despite the sometimes overt and extreme cover-up… Imagine now that many of the great Patriarchs of the Bible were actually great Pharoahs of Egypt… 🤯🤯

The Gnostic Ophites and Naaseni

THE GNOSTIC SERPENTS : The Ophites and Naaseni 🐍

The Serpent Gnostic sects of Egypt included known as the Ophites and Naaseni. Both names are Greek and denote “Serpents.” The Fourth Century historian Philaster maintained that these sects, along with the Sethians and Cainites, were specially united by having descended directly from the First Instructor and Serpent on the Tree. Of these sects the Ophites (from Ophidian, “snake”) and Nasseni (from Hebrew Naas or Nachash, “snake”) were unique in being the pre-eminent worshipers of live snakes. Like Serpent Gnostics worldwide, they were also renown for having “knowledge of the deepest things.”

The Naaseni are believed to have descended from the original gnostics in the west, and to have existed well before the birth of Christ. They are related to the Nasurai, the enlightened gnostics of the Mandeans, who blended with the Essenes to form the sect of Nasoreans or “Nazarenes.” The Mandaean Nasurai Jesus was born into this Essene Serpent sect and known by his peers as the Nasorean (or the Nazarene). Long after his Ascension, his Apostles continued the Serpent tradition of Jesus and named their little group Nasoreans. Jesus’s brother, James, oversaw this small group and continued to tradition of remaining in contact with other Serpent Gnostics in the Middle East. According to historical record, James sent “Mariam” with some very secretive “Serpent” teachings to transmit to the Nasseni of Alexandria. This Nasorean Mariam is believed to be none other than Mary Magadalene, who was apparently in association with the Apostles and their Nasorean sect long after the departure of Jesus.

According to the historian Epiphanius, the most important live snake of the Nasseni and Ophites was venerated as the First Instructor and commonly kept in a special chest known as the Cista Mystica, which was only opened during the most sacred of rituals. At mealtimes the favored snake, which the Serpent Gnostics addressed as their Savior, was coaxed out of its box and let loose to consecrate their food by slithering over and around it. Afterwards, the Ophites would take turns kissing the sacred snake upon the mouth and then sinking to their knees in humble worship of the reptile. These and other more secretive rites of the Ophites were timed with the ascension of the Celestial Serpent, the constellation of Draco the Dragon, which was acknowledged by them to be the eternal heavenly manifestation of the First Instructor.

The Ophites and Nasseni employed various Greek and Hebrew names for their Serpent Savior, including Nachash, Kneph, Chnouphis, and the Agathodeamon. For protection they carried coins, talismans and gems with images of their serpent deity carved deeply into them. The gems and talismans were often bright red in color, thus reflecting the fiery nature of the serpent engraved upon them, and covered with Greek mantras and symbols. The red gems also activated the Kundalini, which was a form of the Serpent Savior in the human body. Ophite initiate’s were known to spend long periods of time in the caves of the Egyptian desert while propitiating their Serpent Savior and his transformative power.

For their academic contemplation the Gnostic Nasseni studied The Gospel According to Thomas and they were known to have been great fans of The Gospel According to the Egyptians. They were also inveterate devotees of the Goddess and adopted many of Her rites that had been observed in the Eleusinian Mysteries and other Left Hand Path schools.

The Jewish Serpents of Wisdom

The Gnostic Serpents of Palestine were descended from the lineage of Serpents from Egypt, Sumeria, and the Far East, where they had been the Djedhi Adepts, the priests of Lord Enki, and disciples of Sanat Kumara.

Moses brought the Djedhi tradition with him from Egypt and first introduced it to the Hebrews in the desert with the image of the Serpent on the Cross, which he assured his people would heal them. Throughout his many years Moses taught his tribe, the Levites, the Egyptian wisdom of the serpent, including how to both properly invoke the Primal Serpent and how to awaken it internally as the Kundalini. The Primal Serpent was placed upon the altars and venerated by the Levites until the time of King Hezekiah “who broke the images of the serpent which had been in the high places [temples] since the time of Moses.” The name Levi reflects that of “Leviathan,” the epithet under which the Levite priests’ venerated the Primal Serpent.

Much of the esoteric Serpent Wisdom that Moses brought out of Egypt was compiled into the Kabbala, which was secret knowledge first taught in the Garden of Eden by the Angel Raziel, one of Sanat Kumara’s entourage (Sanat Kumara’s western name is St. Michael, the leader of the Archangels). According to the Kabbala, the Gnostic-alchemical tradition of the Serpent Masters began in the Garden of Eden with the Serpent on the Tree who was either a name for Cain or the father of Cain. The Name Cain denotes “a worker of [Serpent] fire,” and Cain is related to Can, the universal word for “Serpent. Another name for Cain is Seth and both are names for the Egyptian Thoth-Hermes. This truth was taught among the later Cainite and Sethian Gnostics of Alexandria who, like the Ophites and Naaseni, claimed to have descended directly from the Primal Serpent and been heir to the Gnostic wisdom that had passed from Adam to Cain-Seth and then down a long line of enlightened Gnostics.

The Gnostic Serpents of Palestine also received both Serpent Wisdom and Power from the lineage of Abraham from Sumeria. The name Abraham was originally “Abram,” meaning “Possessor of fire.” This was the Serpent Fire that Abraham received from King Melchizedek, who by another name was Sanat Kumara, the Dragon King of the World. Melchizedek’s sacred fire in turn passed from Abraham to the lineage of Jewish Prophets and to the Gnostic Masters of the Kabbala. Sanat Kumara’s yantra – his geometrical form body – was also passed to the Jews from King Melchizedek in the form of the Star of David.

The third line of Serpent Gnostics that influenced the Jewish Serpents of Wisdom were the Mandeans who had originated on Sri Lanka when it was part of Lemuria and known as the Garden of Eden of Serendib. They were disciples of Sanat Kumara, the Serpent on the Tree and founder of the Gnostic-Alchemical Path. The Nasurai, the enlightened “Serpents” (Nas = “Serpent”) of the Mandeans, transmitted the power and wisdom of Sanat Kumara to the Essenes when the Jewish sect united with the Mandeans to form the Nasoreans. Born within the Nasorean sect of Serpent Gnostics were John the Baptist, Jesus, Mary Magdaelene and John the Apostle, the wayshowers who spread the wisdom of the Gnostic-Serpents throughout the western world.
